The San Diego Moon Fest Faire 2006 organized
by The Asian Culture and Senior Center (ACSC) was held at the Kearny
Mesa Recreation Center & Park next to Mesa College . After Chinese
New Year, this festival is the most celebrated holiday of the year.
The Moon Festival celebrates the autumn harvest with family reunions
and is also romanticized by legends about the mysterious moon.
The highlights of this event included a Kung Fu show from the warriors of Shaolin Temple of China, and variety of performances will range from tradition Asian dance, to hip hop dance, to rap, to martial arts, and vocal song.
The event is co-hosted by more than six local Asian organizations, including American Chinese Culture and Education Foundation (ACCEF). The Chinese singing and folk dance performances ( 4PM, 7PM ) were organized by ACCEF (Kechun Tang, VP performance club), and participated by the Xinjian Dance, Little Star Dance Troupe and Song of Spring Chorus Troupe. These beautiful performance programs received loud cheers from an exited crowd of 200.
The ACCEF booth and the fishing game organized by the Youth Care Club also drew great attention from many young and adult visitors. Xiaohong Tang (VP event) gave a short introduction of ACCEF during the appreciation ceremony at 6PM .
Nice job and congratulations to our young performers and Youth Care Club members!
